I am a Physical Educator and a DAPE (Developmental Adapted Physical Education) Specialist. This is my first year teaching middle school P.E. and in the past the majority of my job was working with students with special needs. Dogs have always been a passion of mine, and one of my goals being a DAPE specialist is integrating animal-assisted therapy (AAT) with my dog, Tyler, into my job working with students with special needs.

I have compiled countless articles on companions and how they benefit all people, while writing my literature research paper to complete my Masters of Arts in Education. To help accomplish this goal, Tyler has taken four dog obedience courses, a Canine Good Citizen class, and an acting class. Last summer Tyler took a therapy dog preparation course to obtain his therapy license.
I began my dog walking business one year ago due to my teaching position reduced because of budget cuts in our school district. Right before the 2008-2009 school year began, I had the opportunity to teach full time and couldn't turn down this offer. Because of my full time teaching position, unfortunately, I'm limited to walking dogs during the work day.

Animals have always played an important part in my life. The benefits of a healthy dog can be limitless. I love caring for dogs and consider it a privilege to offer my service for dogs to be physically and mentally healthy. Since I am a physical educator, I believe in lifelong fitness for humans and also in animals.

I have been active my entire life playing sports and running long distances. I have ran three marathons with the hope of running a fourth this fall. Because I enjoy running, and most dogs would prefer to run or walk at a fast pace, I would
love to take your dog for a jog!
